Wii WiFi
The Wii uses an online WiFi system called WiiConnect24. WiiConnect24 allows you to send emails or
messages between Wiis or play games online with friends. The WiiConnect24 system is a main part of how you use the Wii.Sending messages is easy to do. To add a contact that has a Wii simply enter their 16-digit Wii Friend Code, give them a nickname, and have them add you. It doesn't take long to register and then you can send each other messages. To register an e-mail enter the email and have them reply to the message that will be sent to them asking them to confirm a link-up with you.
There are certain games that you can go online and play with friends on. This can only be done Wii to Wii. The way the games use the online features differ from game to game. The games that support WiiConnect24 that are currently out are: Battalion Wars 2, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Endless Ocean, FIFA 08, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, Ghost Squad, Gutair Hero III: Legends of Rock, Hooked! Real Motion Fighting, Madden NFL 08, Mario Kart Wii, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, Mario Strikers Charged, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, MX vs. ATV: Untamed, NBA Live 08, Nights: Journey of Dreams, Nitrobike, Octomania, Pokémon Battle Revolution, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Super Smash Bros.: BRAWL, and Trauma Center: New Blood.
Another way WiiConnect24 is used is through channels. The News, Forecast, Shop, Internet, Check Mii Out, and Everybody Votes Channels all use WiiConnect24. It is very important in all of those channels and important in the downloading of new channels/games.
WiiConnect24 can also be used to preform Wii System Updates. These make your Wii have more features and could fix and errors they may have had before. Wii System Updates can also install new channels for you.
